Even while injured a good part of July, Ryan Braun managed to hit .328 with five homers in 17 games. He knocks off Matt Kemp for the top spot. Also moving up is Justin Upton, who is smoking the ball right now. He’s hit seven home runs while batting .436 in his past 16 games. Nelson Cruz is another riser. He’s hit 6 homers and driven in 28 runs since July 1. I really like Mike Stanton the rest of the way. His power numbers can’t be denied. He has a great chance to hit 40 homers. Adam Jones is another guy that’s been remarkably consistent all year. He’s giving you good production for someone you probably got relatively cheap on draft day. I added Desmond Jennings to the rankings this month and slotted him at number 34. I like him a lot and I think he’ll be running every time he gets on base. He has a chance to swipe 25 bags from here on out.

Falling this month is Ichiro Suzuki. He does have 28 steals, but he was always someone you could count on for a .320 average. Hopefully he starts hitting in the final two months. Jayson Werth seems to be coming around somewhat, but I dropped him this month. He’s still only batting .226, so I want to see more from him before I’d recommend him. Jason Heyward must have lingering issues with his shoulder. He’s only hitting .223 on the season. The Braves need him down the stretch, so I’m hopeful he will improve.
