Moving up this month is Joe Mauer. He’s hitting a sizzling .356 since July 1. I was tempted to put him first, but with his injury history, I’ll go with the steady horse in Victor Martinez. Mike Napoli made a huge jump this month too. He is absolutely destroying the ball right now, hitting an off the charts .443 with 5 homers since his return from the disabled list on July 4. Ramon Hernandez is another one to make a bit of a jump. He’s hitting .302 on the season with 10 homers. That can’t go overlooked.

Those falling this month include Alex Avila, Russell Martin, and Jorge Posada. Avila had a bad July, but I still think he should finish the season fairly strong. Martin and Posada on the other hand are just flat out under performing right now. Hopefully you owned Russell Martin in April and were able to move him. He’s hitting .201 since May 1. Terrible.

I ranked McCann eighth overall. It’s hard to say what he will be back. Oblique injuries can be tricky. He could be back when his 15 days are up or need a few extra weeks. I have David Ross ranked 24th, and he is a serviceable back-up.

Why is everyone so low on olivo? He’s 9th in runs, 5th in hr, tied for 6th in RBI at his position and he’s even chipped in 4 steals! Sure his avg stinks, but he’s a catcher! Other than the big 3 (vmart mauer McCann), not many good avg catchers out there anyway! I’ve been riding olivo all year. Very underrated…
